Bagged Groceries

The Brown Bag Program provides supplemental bags of groceries for 500 low-income families and seniors throughout Tarrant County. Brown bag contents vary depending upon availability of items.

A variety of foods are provided and include (actual content vary based on current donations):

  • Fruits and Vegetables
  • Carbohydrates (i.e. Rice, Pasta, or Beans)
  • Bread and Rolls
  • Protein (i.e., canned tuna, fish, or chicken)
  • Canned Goods

To be eligible applicants must:

  • Complete a HIM Application
  • Provide proof of total monthly income
  • Single: $1,151 or less, cash assets of $2,000 or less
  • Married: Combined income $2,161 and cash assets of $3,000 or less

Partner Pantry

In partnership with more than 60 food assistance programs throughout North Texas to help get food to Texans at risk of going hungry. Our network of programs includes food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, low-income daycare centers, after-school and summer programs, rehabilitation centers, shelters and youth services.

Our member programs work in partnership with HIM to help provide nutritious and balanced meals and groceries to Texans at risk of hunger - the majority of whom are women, children, seniors, the working poor, and people with disabilities.
